One Second Logo
I wanted a logo for my blog and rather to my surprise I got one in no time. Usually it takes me hours to make a logo that satisfy my eyes. Besides, its been a while since I worked on any logo myself. Past few years, I had my logos done by professionals. But, whenever any new initiative overwhelms my mind, I get started with creating one myself. Whether I end up creating the logo or not, I enjoy the process of exploring my imagination.
As you can imagine, I'm excited about my first blog, It was in the back of my mind that I'll make a logo. And, it will simply have the letter H, the initial letter of my name.
It wasn't my intention to create a logo at this time. I wanted to make a favicon that appears on browser tabs for a website. I wanted to replace the Bloggers B favicon with my custom H favicon. Had I planned to make a logo first and then get a favicon out of it, I would have spent hours in Photoshop & Illustrator. This time around, for the favicon, I took a shortcut. I opened Powerpoint, took a square, colored it green, wrote H in the middle of it and then kept changing the fonts. One particular font caught my eye and I stopped. It looked great to my eyes and I knew this is what I wanted. Saved the shape as an image and I got not only my favicon but also my logo. and it took only a few seconds. The split second when I stopped on a particular font was the moment I had my logo done.
It got me think, next time if I need any logo, i'll go this other route- First a favicon and then who know's I'll get my logo out of it just like that.
